Introduction

Converting a Figma design into WordPress is not simply a matter of copying what you see on the screen.

A Figma file gives you the visual direction, but the final website needs to work with real content, different screen sizes and the flexibility of the WordPress environment.

A good implementation should look close to the original design while also being responsive, maintainable and easy to manage.

01 Understand the design first

Before starting development, I inspect the entire Figma file.

I look at typography, colors, spacing, container widths, buttons, cards, images and repeated components.

I also check whether desktop, tablet and mobile versions are available.

02 Identify reusable components

Most websites contain repeated design patterns.

Buttons, cards, headings, spacing systems, navigation elements and content sections can often be reused.

Identifying these components early helps keep the website consistent and reduces unnecessary work later.

03 Build the page structure

Once the design is understood, I start creating the basic structure in WordPress.

At this stage, I focus more on layout and hierarchy than small visual details.

04 Match the visual design

After the structure is ready, I refine the visual details.

Typography, spacing, colors, borders, shadows, buttons and image sizes are adjusted to match the original design.

05 Make it responsive

A responsive website should not simply be a smaller version of the desktop design.

Some sections may need different column structures, spacing, font sizes or alignment on mobile.

06 Optimize performance

Once the design is complete, I review the website from a performance perspective.

Large images, unnecessary scripts, excessive animations and inefficient assets can all affect loading speed.

07 Test before launch

Before considering the project finished, I test navigation, buttons, forms, images, responsive layouts and important interactions.

Conclusion

A successful Figma-to-WordPress project is not just about making the website look like the design.

The final product should also be responsive, fast, usable and easy to maintain.

That's why I treat design implementation, responsive development, performance and testing as equally important parts of the process.
